Eli worked at Towers Watson this summer in their center city Philadelphia, PA office.  Having spent the summer at Towers Watson, he is surely confident in his choice of the health care and employee benefits industry as his future career path.

Some daily tasks performed this summer included assisting consultants and associates with request for proposals, benchmarking research, and the employee benefits challenges concerning client mergers and acquisitions.  Eli made use of Towers Watson proprietary tools to provide associates with relevant industry research, enhancing the understanding of client issues.  Excel and PowerPoint was used extensively to helped model future health care expense budgets for numerous clients ranging from 1,000 to 30,000+ employees.

Speaking on the effectiveness of his RMI classes, Eli proclaims, “The knowledge and skills acquired through my RMI classes, specifically 3501, provided an essential foundation to approach the internship with confidence.”  The information he was able to bring with him to situations in the internship enhanced Eli’s understanding and interest in the challenges throughout the summer.

Towards the end of the summer, Eli and the other intern were given a project to work through and present to the “Board of Directors” (fellow associates and consultants at Towers Watson) of a simulated client.  This was undoubtedly the most intriguing aspect of the internship as it gave Eli the closest insight into how the consulting process truly works.  In addition to the intellectually satisfying opportunities of the summer, Eli enjoyed free lunches, happy hours and birthday celebrations with those in the office.

Even though he greatly enjoyed the work, Eli says that the people he worked with is what made the experience so enjoyable, and would enthusiastically recommend this company to other students.
