Gina interned within the Major Accounts Department in Property and Casualty Insurance at Conner Strong & Buckelew this past summer.  She worked primarily with Excel spreadsheets, check-listing policies, and helping her team within the department with different projects.  She was also involved with MOD projections for workers’ compensation premiums, creating documents that allowed the company to better understand their clients’ risks.  She felt her RMI classes allowed her to better understand the projects to which she was assigned and that seeing information covered in class used in a real-life setting only strengthened her understand of the material.

There were also several additional benefits to Gina’s internship with Conner Strong and Buckelew.  She was included in the company softball game at the Rivershark’s stadium, an intern lunch with CEO Mike Tiagwad, and happy hours with the other employees.  The atmosphere was one of her favorite parts about the internship.  Interns sat together in the office which allowed them to ask each other questions, make a more comfortable transition to working life, and build friendship.  Everyone, though, from the senior executives to the recent grads was extremely welcoming and always willing to discuss and insurance question or the latest Phil’s game.  Gina would not change anything about her experience with Conner Strong and Buckelew and would highly recommend the company to future intern candidates.
