Robert worked at Chartis Insurance in Philadelphia this summer.  During the his experience he assisted the underwriting and sales team with a variety of projects. These include conducting profit and loss runs, renewal recommendations and drafting renewal letters.  Rob helped the underwriters on compliance and regulatory issues for clients and also developed reports showing catastrophic loss exposure for reinsurance purposes.

For the sales team, he participated in several broker and TPA calls promoting stop-loss coverage and a new captive management program.  Rob was intimately involved in the sales process of a new client which brought over one million dollars of revenue. Robert says his RMI classes absolutely helped in his internship. In fact, the underwriters were always complementing me on my level of knowledge since they learned the basic concepts while on the job.

A great opportunity for Rob this summer was lunch with the President of Chartis Mid-Atlantic and the President of Accident and Health.  In addition, he stresses how great the people were across the whole organization.  Rob would certainly recommend this internship to other students.
