Tara worked at ACE Group this summer in Philadelphia.  She says the internship was very self indulgent and a more “work at your own pace,” with certain activities. Though, other tasks they provided me with were given a deadline. She did anything from quarterly reports and reserve reviews to dealing with long tail Medicare claims and making sure everyone was accurately input into the system. She spent a lot of time decoding policies online through a generic depository in order to make locating policies easier and more streamlined.

In addition to her RMI classes, Tara’s MSOM class actually helped a lot when dealing with Gantt Charts and loss forecasting. Yet, her RMI classes were very helpful when dealing with characteristics of claims and payouts and other processes within the scope of insurance thought the summer.

Tara’s biggest project this summer involved Medicare. She dealt with thousands of claimants and had to enter the information into an Access Database to make sure they would be correctly paid out and cross-reference claims already paid out.

Tara said she really loved the atmosphere and people she worked with. They were all very friendly, welcoming, and absolutely always willing to help if with any questions. The workload was easy enough that she could take my time on some things just to make sure everything was as precise as needed. At times though, it was too easy in that she could have been given more challenging tasks. Despite feeling She could have contributed a bit more during her time at ACE, Tara would recommend this company to other students.
