Provide a General Description of the Internship. Include daily tasks completed, the company and its employees, and any other information.
The internship drastically changes day to day. Outside of trainings that are spread out during the week, there is no strict schedule. With this structure, the main objective of interns is to support the "Unit" (Account managers, Account Executives, Account Administrators, etc...) that they are assigned to with whatever they have on their plate. This causes workload to fluctuate, however, 90% of my work were things that would eventually be seen by the client.

Did you have a mentor?

If so, how did he/she help you during your internship?
My mentor was there to answer virtually any question that I had throughout the course of the internship. That ranged from help with a project that I could be working on, or where in the city to get my haircut. My mentor had also previously been a summer intern.

Did you feel your RMI/AS classes better prepared you for the internship?
Yes. I knew more going into the internship than my fellow interns.

Interviewing/Hiring Process Comments:
I had a brief interview at the career reception and one hour long video interview.

Were you assigned any special projects? If so please describe.
Yes. At the end of the internship I was assigned a final project that all interns from all of the departments had to collaborate on.

What were the supplemental benefits besides the pay? (Internship Lunches, Housing, Sports Games, Happy Hours, etc.)
Yes. I was flown out to Kansas City to visit the headquarters. While there I attended a Royals game and I also attended a Nationals game while in DC. The first Friday of every month is Lockton lunch. The entire office is allowed to wear jeans to the office and lunch is provided for the entire office. There were also "Beer Fridays" which were impromptu happy hours that took place in the office form 4-5 on select Fridays.

Describe the company's internship program(atmosphere, work load, work, housing, outside work activities, etc.).
A work hard play hard atmosphere. While at times the workload could be very stressful, the workplace was fun an equal amount of times. One day I could be swamped with projects that have deadlines of that same afternoon. Other days I was able to have a putting contest in the office with my intern coordinator.

Was the internship what you expected after the interviewing/hiring process?

Were you provided time off besides the weekend?

If you had to relocate, describe the process of adapting to a new city.
I relocated and lived in the GW dorms. Housing was expensive but I had a 10 minute walk to work in the morning as opposed to taking the metro.
