Provide a General Description of the Internship. Include daily tasks completed, the company and its employees, and any other information.
Standard work hours M-F 8-4:30. No standard daily tasks, worked on individual and group projects of varying length and complexity as assigned by manager.

Did you have a mentor?
Yes

If so, how did he/she help you during your internship?
Manager was extremely accessible and had an open-door policy.

Did you feel your RMI/AS classes better prepared you for the internship?
Yes, RMI classes helped prepare me for my internship, as they gave me the theory behind what we were doing in the real world and more importantly, the why.

Interviewing/Hiring Process Comments:
First round interview on Campus. Second round phone interview (panel).

Were you assigned any special projects? If so please describe.
Worked on a team to implement new Rating Relativities for commercial property windstorm coverage in the state of Texas.

What were the supplemental benefits besides the pay? (Internship Lunches, Housing, Sports Games, Happy Hours, etc.)
Taken out to lunch a few times over the course of the summer.

Describe the company's internship program(atmosphere, work load, work, housing, outside work activities, etc.).
The internship program is relatively laid back. It was very unstructured, as this was the first summer Nationwide has had interns at this location. Felt like I was contributing to real-world projects the same as my full-time team members were.

Was the internship what you expected after the interviewing/hiring process?
Yes

Were you provided time off besides the weekend?
Yes. Was allowed to take an unpaid day off to take care of some family business that had come up.

If you had to relocate, describe the process of adapting to a new city.
N/A
