Chief Growth Officer




Chris Duncan, EPIC’s Chief Growth Officer, is responsible for growing EPIC’s presence throughout the United States, primarily as its National Benefits Leader, and though acquisitions, product and partnership strategies across the P&C and Benefits areas. Chris is based in Atlanta and reports to CEO John Hahn, working closely with John, Chief Strategy Officer Derek Thomas, and other members of the EPIC executive leadership team on all growth initiatives.

Prior to joining EPIC, Chris served for six years with Mercer Health & Benefits, most recently as Partner and Health & Benefits Business Leader for its Atlanta office, and prior positions as Growth & Development leader for the U.S. focused on brokerage, private exchange and acquisition strategies. He has also held previous positions at Marsh as Managing Director consulting on enterprise risk management, at Delta Airlines as VP Finance/Chief Risk Officer, and at Frito-Lay and KFC (Pepsi Companies) as Director, Risk Management and Security. In addition to Risk Management, Chris has served as Finance Director for New Concepts at KFC, and as CFO/CFO of several small, privately held companies in the insurance brokerage and energy businesses.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Risk Management, both from the University of Georgia. He was named Alumnus of the Year (2003) for the Terry College of Business Risk Management and Insurance Program, University of Georgia. He is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and is on the board of the Brantley Risk & Insurance Center at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.

In his spare time Chris and his wife Lisa enjoy hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and he is active in his church and the community, most notably in support of Romania Children at Risk Ministries.
